Jetty Road, Brighton will be the place to be on Saturday 22 June to celebrate the 2024 winter solstice.
The Brighton Winter Solstice is a winter street party with cosy fire pits, festoon lighting, live music and kids’ activities. As well as their fire pits, the event has plenty of cover to keep you warm throughout the night.
The street will come alive from 4pm until 9pm so take the family along and enjoy great food and wine by the street’s local traders.
Celebrate the winter solstice by supporting local Jetty Road traders and enjoying a cosy night surrounded by music and fire pits.

- SHOP – from Jetty Road traders, look out for Brighton Winter Solstice specials,
- MUSIC – DJ from 5pm to 9pm
- FIRE – open fire pits and barrels to keep you warm
The line-up of entertainment and activities will be bigger and better than ever before this year, especially for kids who can enjoy:
- Facepainting and hair braiding
- Silent Disco – for all ages
- Brighton Library free kids’ activities
- Outdoor games including table tennis
There are two solstices every year: one in June and one in December. The June solstice marks the longest day north of the equator and the shortest day in the south.
The June solstice (winter solstice) in Adelaide is 6:20am on Thursday 21 June 2024.
