Australia v England | FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ Semi Final | 16 Aug 2023

Where to watch Australia v England FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ Semi Final in Adelaide

There are now TWO huge family-friendly locations fans can gather in the City to watch the semi final match between Australia and England on Wednesday night.

With the popular FIFA Fan Festival™ at Festival Plaza expected to reach capacity on Wednesday night, Memorial Drive has been announced as an additional Matildas fan site, adding a capacity for 7,000 people to watch all the action on the large screens.

With Festival Plaza having a capacity of 3,000, another site was suggested so friends and families can gather together to cheer on the Tillies.   There will be large screens, a DJ and catering at both sites, with Memorial Drive just a short walk over the River Torrens footbridge.

Memorial Drive was chosen mainly for size but also because of the weather as it’s undercover.  Australia has been in a green and gold frenzy since Australia won their quarterfinal match in an historic penalty shootout.  The quarterfinal match between Australia and France saw the longest penalty shootout in the history of the FIFA Women’s World Cup – the shootout had 10 penalty kicks each, with Australia finally winning the contest 7-6.

Gates open at 6pm and the game kicks off at 7.30pm Adelaide time, so get there early to secure a seat!

UPDATE: 17 AUGUST 2023

After going down 1-3 to England in their semi final, Australia take on Sweden for third place on Saturday 19 August 2023 at 5.30pm (SA time).
