See the West Croydon Railway Station 1949 Display by James Gauci at the Civic (Woodville) Library.
The City of Charles Sturt will be exhibiting an incredibly detailed model of the West Croydon Railway Station in 1949. Based on years of research, interviews, and artefacts, this 5-year project captures the ‘Romance of the South Australian Railways’ and what the station and the surrounding suburb of West Croydon used to look like.
The layout takes you “back in time” when railways connected people, families, communities, and local economies. Over 1,500 hours have been committed to this project. Every detail of this layout has been researched and made by hand to recreate the area as close as possible to what it was in this era.
Drop into the Civic (Woodville) Library during opening hours to view the display. No bookings necessary.
