Seoul Sweetie Korean Dessert Cafe | Review

Seoul Sweetie is the sweetest late night Korean dessert café that deserves a place on your must visit list.
Review by Angelica-Hazel Toutounji
Adelaide’s Chinatown is bustling, buzzing and packed to the brim with delicious dining options. If you find yourself close to this side of town and in search of a sweet treat that hits the spot, is unique and can be enjoyed in an aesthetic space, look no further.

Seoul Sweetie is located at 270 Morphett Street between the popular streets of Gouger and Grote. This makes it a fantastic place to visit after a dinner on Gouger (even better head next door to Busan Baby, which is owned by the same team) or call past before a show at the nearby Her Majesty’s Theatre.
From the outside you are met with a painted black shop front and big windows but once inside it is cosy, warm and almost like you have stepped into a whimsical wonderland. The walls are panelled and painted light green, there are pastel coloured chairs and plants are plotted throughout the space and greenery adorned from the ceiling. There are tables set up in twos and fours and lighting hangs from the ceiling and the walls to add ambiance.

Moving onto the menu, what is so fun about this place is that it is unique and provides the perfect opportunity to try Korean style desserts. After perusing the menu for quite some time we settled on the strawberry bingsu and a molten lava earl grey cake. If you are unfamiliar with bingsu it is a milk based Korean shaved ice dessert. It has a unique taste and texture but is delicious and definitely has the wow factor for kids. The lava cake was compact in size but made up for it in flavour. Other tempting menu items are the croiffles which is a cross between a croissant and waffle and specialty drinks including bubble tea and dalgona whipped coffee. There is a range of caffeine free drinks available and there is no alcohol on the menu.

Things to note:
- The space was a little dark so if you are vision impaired you might want to note this
- Seoul Sweetie is open* Wednesday to Sunday (as at November 2025) – check their Instagram page for opening hours
- There are gluten free and vegetarian options available
- We went as soon as it opened and walked straight in but if you visit later there might be a line as it’s a small popular space
- There are accessible toilets on site
- The best nearby parking options are on the street, Grote Street carpark or the Adelaide Central Market carpark.
