Sea Turtle Park

Sea Turtle Park in Port Noarlunga is a new playground in Adelaide’s south, centred around a 13-metre sea turtle structure with additional play equipment and open space.

Review by Danielle Parker

If you’re looking for a new playground to test out, Sea Turtle Park in Port Noarlunga opened in March 2026. It’s named as such because at the centre of it all is a giant 13-metre-long sea turtle that kids can climb, explore and sit inside, making it a unique feature you won’t find at other playgrounds. It’s a playful and imaginative structure that captures attention. While the park does include a few extra play features, the overall design remains simple and uncluttered.

Sea Turtle Park

The park is set out in a way that makes it easy to supervise kids, with great visibility across the whole space. There are no designated toddler or older kids’ areas, so everything is mixed together. There’s also plenty of open lawn space, perfect for kicking a football around, throwing a frisbee, setting up a picnic rug or simply letting the kids run free and burn off some energy.

What you’ll find:

  • A 13-metre-long sea turtle structure with shaded seating underneath
  • A slippery dip
  • Three swings (baby, standard and saucer)
  • Carousel (with a seat suitable for younger kids)
  • Low climbing net
  • Basketball & netball court
  • Open kickabout space and a large grassed lawn

Sea Turtle Park

Sea Turtle Park is part of the new Sunset at Port Noarlunga South development by Land Australia (Hickinbotham Group), a $267 million project that will eventually house around 640 families. As such, it still feels quite open, but it’s a space that will likely become even more inviting as the landscaping matures.

Things to Consider:

  • Remember hats and sunscreen as while there’s some shade, much of it is out in the open. Plenty of trees have been planted, which, once grown up, will provide some beautiful shady spots.
  • Take along bikes, scooters, roller skates, footballs, basketballs, netballs to make the most of the play space.
  • There is a mix of rubber surface and bark chips in the play space so if you have a toddler who tries to put everything in their mouth, you’ll need to keep an eye out for the bark.
  • There are currently no toilets on site.
