City Lights Pitstops | Illuminate Adelaide | 3-19 Jul 2026
Where to Eat & Drink during Illuminate Adelaide’s City Lights
Illuminate Adelaide’s City Lights trail is the perfect excuse to turn your night out into a full evening adventure, with plenty of fantastic restaurants, cosy wine bars and dessert spots dotted throughout the city. Spanning from North Terrace through the East End and into Rymill Park, the trail is surrounded by some of Adelaide’s best food and drink destinations and this year there are featured ‘pitstops’ ideal for a warming drink between installations or a late-night bite after exploring the lights.
Replacing Base Camp from previous years, Illuminate Adelaide has created the following ‘pitstops’ along the City Lights trail:
- Art Gallery of South Australia
- State Library of South Australia
- LUMEN Bar
- Lot Fourteen
- Rymill Kiosk
City Lights Pitstop: Art Gallery of South Australia
Located by the Art Gallery of South Australia Sculpture Courtyard and open late during Illuminate Adelaide for snacks and drinks to keep you warm and the energy high during your City Lights journey. Stop by the Radford Auditorium and visit the immersive Rarrirarri by The Mulka Project after a hot chocolate or an oozy cheese toastie.
When: Thursday – Sunday (during Illuminate Adelaide), 5pm – 9pm

City Lights Pitstop: State Library of South Australia
Make a pit stop at the State Library of South Australia Forecourt on your City Lights journey through the streets of Adelaide. Refresh on North Terrace with a curated mix of pop-up bites and treats to keep hands warm and spirits high, or step inside for a hot drink at the Library café, with cosy foyer seating, toilets, and open amenities.
While you’re inside, explore Pull Pop Push in the gallery, a playful exhibition of movable books that surprise and delight as they unfold before your eyes.

City Lights Pitstop: LUMEN Bar
LUMEN Bar returns to North Terrace for Illuminate Adelaide 2026 with a Nu theme, reimagining the space as an acid jazz playground inspired by London’s Nu Jazz movement of the 1980s. Expect a seamless blend of jazz, funk, soul, hip-hop and house, brought to life by a rotating lineup of big bands featuring Elder Conservatorium alumni.
The menu includes snacks by Adelaide University Waite Campus chef-in-residence Karena Armstrong and former chef-in-residence Kane Pollard, alongside a curated wine list. Table bookings, group gatherings, and private events will be available.
City Lights Pitstop: Lot Fourteen
Located in heritage listed Sheridan Kiosk in the heart of innovation district Lot Fourteen is a homely, welcoming café – Table on the Terrace. Owned by the team behind Port Noarlunga’s The Flour Store, Table on the Terrace offers crafted coffee, mouthwatering food, and warm, fantastic service with a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Table on the Terrace will also be a part of this year’s Illuminate Host series offering up its goodies all throughout the winter festival.

City Lights Pitstop: Rymill Kiosk
Between City Lights installations in Rymill Park, make a pitstop at the newly renovated Rymill Kiosk – the long-awaited revival of a much-loved lakeside destination has been brought to life by the team behind Peter Rabbit Café.
This Illuminate time, get a sneak peek of what’s to come at Rymill Kiosk, which is set to open officially open in the Spring 2026. The space will transform into the perfect grab and go location; sit by the lake during your City Lights walk, grab a bite to eat and enjoy the wintery experience.
