Flip Out | Indoor Trampoline & Adventure Park | Elizabeth | Review

Bounce, climb, test your ball skills and embrace your inner ninja at Flip Out Elizabeth!
Review by Angelica-Hazel Toutounji
Located in a combined space that also houses Drift City (previous site of the old Holden factory), Flip Out is an indoor trampoline playground with a lot to offer families in the north of Adelaide.

We first visited a Flip Out venue in Sydney and absolutely loved our experience. As soon as we heard one was opening at the old Holden site, we knew we had to make the drive north to check it out. Although Flip Out Elizabeth had been open for a couple of weeks, we decided to wait until the school holiday rush was over. Instead, we chose the first Friday afternoon back at school to visit. This strategy paid off: we arrived around 4pm and had plenty of space to enjoy the facilities, with only a handful of other families there.

Our first impressions were that the venue was spacious, eye-catching and well laid out for families of different ages.

Walking in, we passed Drift City, a multi-level electric go-kart track that looked very appealing, but sadly doesn’t accommodate kids under 10. We also passed a selection of arcade-style games that caught the kids’ attention, but we gently ushered them into Flip Out so we could get stuck into the trampoline play. There’s a dedicated area to leave your shoes before entering, and once you climb the stairs, you can browse the music playlist and put in your requests.

Moving on to the play areas, there’s a small section for young kids with a mini ball pit, slide and some ride-on games. Our kids were too big for this section but it did look fun albeit small. There’s a dodgeball section and an area where you can test your ball skills, such as soccer and basketball. Next to this is a parkour area designed for running, vaulting and agility training. Alongside it, there are two dedicated basketball hoops with trampolines underneath.

There’s also a maze area packed full of fun and designated for children under 16. My daughters loved the ride-on swinging ball, Velcro axe throwing and multiple slides inside this section.

Another big drawcard for Flip Out Elizabeth is the Ninja Warrior course, where the kids could time themselves completing the challenge and keep taking turns to improve their speed. We also noticed a climbing section that my daughters begged to go on, but sadly it wasn’t open during our visit.

There’s a café upstairs with ample seating, so you can refuel during your visit and get a good view of the venue from above. Flip Out also offers birthday parties, with a variety of packages to suit a range of budgets. We visited with my nephew, who had already been once and decided on his first visit that he wants a Flip Out party, so we’re excited to return!

We had a great experience visiting Flip Out Elizabeth with two six years olds and an 8 year old. All the staff we interacted with were helpful, the facilities kept us entertained for hours, and we liked that there were multiple sections to accommodate different age groups.
Our biggest tip for exploring this new venue is to try to pick an off-peak time for your visit. When we visited, there were only a few other families, so we didn’t have to wait for the Ninja Warrior course, the venue felt calm, and we could easily see where the kids were across the space.

Overall, the kids enjoyed their time and we’d gladly come back to this indoor play space another day.
What we liked about it:
- We loved the ninja course, the multiple trampolines and the games woven in through out the space.
Things to consider:
- We can imagine during peak this this place could be quite overstimulating.
- Our biggest challenge was encouraging our kids to drink water as food and drink items aren’t allowed in the play area (understandably) so encouraging them to take a break from the play and leave this space wasn’t easy .
- As with most indoor playgrounds, you need to purchase Flip Out grip socks to enjoy the area.
- There is an accessible ground floor toilet with baby change facilities.
Our favourite nearby coffee spots/cafes:
- We went to our family favourite place, Saints kitchen for dinner after our visit.
Location:
5B/180 Philip Hwy, Elizabeth South
