Commissary | Queen Vic Building, Rose Park

An all day breakfast restaurant. We’re in. If you’re not morning people and have gotten to a cafe at 11.05am for brunch on a Sunday, only to be told they stopped serving breakfast 5 minutes ago, you’ll love this.

Since Commissary opened in 2016Β it’s been building a great reputation for yummy brunch, and now you will often need to book on the weekends to get a table during the breakfast rush.

It’s a great location on Fullarton Road, Rose Park, in the old Queen Vic building overlookingΒ Victoria Park. A fabulousΒ spot for breakfast or coffee before or after heading to theΒ Victoria Park Loop for a walk or a bike ride.

Just recently they added these hot chocolate spheres to the menu and it went straight to theΒ favourite list with the kids. Check out the video below to see why (look out for the surprise at the end).

Please note that the milk is served very hot – so that it melts the chocolate. Therefore please be cautiousΒ with young children and keep out of reach from little ones.

Here is a selection of other items we’ve tried from their menu. They are very flexible which is handy when you have fussy kids, and are happy to accommodate changes to dishes.

This Smoothie Bowl is as fresh and delicious as it looks:

Belgian waffles:

Omelettes, smoked salmon and perfectly poached eggs:

There’s a huge drinks menu with fresh juices, smoothies and milkshakes.
