Age of Elegance is an immersive fashion installation in one of Adelaide’s most beautiful heritage homes. Be swept into the spirit of Adelaide high society during the Victorian era. Ayers House, home of Sir Henry Ayers during South Australia’s most glittering decades, will be alive again with the sights, sounds and smells of the most lavish parties ever seen in Adelaide.
Acclaimed costumier Marion Boyce (Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, The Dressmaker) has created a unique experience with more than 40 authentic period costumes organised into breathtaking tableaux that invite you to immerse yourself in a whimsical world of elegant living in Adelaide’s grandest Victorian home.
While you’re there visit the Scents and Sensibility Room where you can create a fashion-inspired work of art, open the discovery drawers, smell the mystery scents and handle the objects on the Touching Table.
Finish your visit with some dressing up and take some remarkable family portraits. Leave with your craft and some happy memories.
