Billion Steps Challenge | 1-30 Nov 2024

Every step counts towards better health. Tracking steps is great motivation to keep moving everyday which is why Preventative Health SA are inviting South Australians to sign up for the fifth annual Billion Steps Challenge, starting Friday 1 November 2024.

Sign up with 10,000 Steps for free and log your steps throughout November to help Preventative Health SA reach one billion steps by the end of the month. They are aiming to beat last year’s effort which reached the goal in under 29 days.

How to Join:

You can step solo, join a workplace or community team or start your own team by registering as a coordinator.

The City of Salisbury has started a team made up of community members and staff. If you are a City of Salisbury resident, use the code 112-125099 and sign up here to join the team.

When does the challenge start and end?

The 2024 Billion Steps Challenge starts Friday 1 November 2024 and will end 30 November 2024 or when the participants collectively reach the goal of one billion steps.

How does the challenge work?

Sign up for free to become a 10,000 Steps member. You can make every step count by entering your daily pedometer steps or other forms of physical activity, or sync your activity tracker with the app to be automatically added to the total and tracked towards the one billion steps goal.

If you’re already signed up to 10,000 Steps, make sure you’re logging your total step count to make sure your numbers are counted towards the total.
