Bushfire T20 Showdown at Adelaide Oval
Players from the Crows and Power will join some of cricket’s biggest names to raise funds for the SA Bushfire Appeal.
The Adelaide Football Club will join the Port Adelaide Football Club and some of cricket’s biggest names to raise funds for the SA Bushfire Appeal in a special T20 cricket match at Adelaide Oval.
The Bushfire T20 Showdown will be held on Sunday, 2 February 2020 at 2:30pm with all funds raised going to those affected by the recent and ongoing bushfires in South Australia.
Port Adelaide players Tom Jonas and Travis Boak and Adelaide players Rory Sloane and Taylor Walker are among the sporting superstars involved in this match, which promises to be an entertaining afternoon for the whole family.
100% of net proceeds from ticketing, catering, sponsorship and all other donations for this match will go to the state’s bushfire appeal, which will raise vital funds for people directly affected by bushfires in Cudlee Creek and on Kangaroo Island.
All tickets will be sold as general admission:
- Adults $20
- Children $5
- Family tickets $40
Adelaide CEO Andrew Fagan said the thoughts of everyone in the Crows family are with those families impacted by the bushfire crisis and this event is one which every South Australian can support.
“The bushfires have been devastating for families across South Australia, and we are thinking of those on Kangaroo Island right now who continue to battle blazes which threaten their homes and livelihoods,” Fagan said.
“We hope this event can provide an opportunity for footy and cricket fans to come together as a show of support for those affected as well as raise much-needed funds to support the recovery efforts.
“It will also provide an opportunity to recognise the CFS and other emergency service personnel who have sacrificed so much and battled bravely to protect people, property, livestock and wildlife over such a prolonged period of time”.
SACA Chief Executive Keith Bradshaw said:
“We know many SACA and Strikers members and the wider cricket community want to support those affected by these terrible bushfires.
“We are pleased to support the Bushfire T20 Showdown by managing the event operations side of the cricket game and we also plan to find a couple of special guests to boost the teams.”
Adelaide Oval, SACA, SANFL, Adelaide Football Club and Port Adelaide Football Club are all teaming up for this special event.
