CC Hood Reserve | New Playground | Panorama

The new playground at CC Hood Reserve has been designed to support active, inclusive and imaginative play for children of all ages.

Construction is underway for Stage 1 works of the CC Hood Reserve Masterplan, which includes construction of the playground, small dog park, 3×3 basketball court, junior pump track, BBQ, small soccer goals on the oval, a central tree-lined pathway with solar lighting and if funding permits, additional tree-lined pathways.

The City of Mitcham has taken on community feedback with the pedestrian refuge at the proposed location and will include kerb ramps on both sides of the road and traffic refuge islands in the middle, providing a safe and accessible crossing point for pedestrians entering the reserve.

The new playground will feature:

  • A flying fox
  • A large multi-play tower with slides
  • A 3-bay swing set with a mix of junior, toddler, basket, and duo swings
  • Three spring rockers
  • An inclusive roundabout carousel
  • A sand factory
  • Monkey bars
  • Lillypad steppers
