Chihuly in the Botanic Garden | Moore Critters & Chandelier Heist

Chihuly in the Botanic Garden is ready and waiting to brighten up your school holidays with fun activities for your little critters to enjoy!

First up: Moore Critters, an activity that encourages children and teens to get arty and use their imagination, creating a creature that has adapted to live in a colourful world inspired by Dale Chihuly’s playful glass sculptures.

Nestled inside the lush Bicentennial Conservatory, children can see how the vibrant artworks at the In Full Colour: Dale Chihuly exhibition appear to sprout like ‘hybrid plants’ from the rainforest vegetation within – his Mottled Trumpet Flowers, thickets of Red Bamboo Reeds, and Macchia Forests.

Each month, leading local glass artist Tom Moore will select a winner and turn their critter into a glass sculpture at the JamFactory hotshop, creating a one-of-a-kind glass sculpture home to treasure forever!

Grab your tickets to In Full Colour: Dale Chihuly to participate.

There’s also the option to take a special tour before delving into Moore Critters with Colours of a Biome. Find out more about sessions for 7-12 and 13-16 year olds, and see the full list of Chihuly in the Botanic Garden experiences here.

The fun doesn’t stop there! Take part in Adelaide Botanic Garden’s Tabletop Escape Room Games: Chandelier Heist!

Perfect for kids 7 – 16, this is an escape room game with a Chihuly in the Botanic Garden twist.

The glass Chandelier in the Palm House has been taken by an art thief! Kids will use their detective skills to follow the clues and find the stolen chandelier and return it to the glasshouse before the Adelaide Botanic Garden opens for its special Chihuly Nights event.

On for a limited time in early January, grab your spots at select sessions for 7-12 and 13-16 year olds, and see the full list of Chihuly in the Botanic Garden experiences here.

Children must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver during the school holiday activities.
