Circus of Facts: Adelaide Fringe 2024

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️   5 Stars for old-school glitzy, glamorous circus feats that delight young and old.

Review by Claire Davill

Circus of Facts is not solely a kid’s show, but kids will love it. Adults will probably love it even more! You’ll feel like you’ve been whisked back in time 100 years, where the men are in hats and suspenders, the women are in sparkly gowns, and the acts include tried and true circus feats and slapstick humour to engage and awe the whole audience.

With a diamond heist as an over-arching theme, the fast pace show includes quick-change acts, acrobatics, aerial silks, juggling, and a brilliant light-up cyr wheel. Characters include Fanny Floop, Fluffy & Frank Fancy, Forky F.I.G., PopFry and Olive Foil.

The soundtrack is brilliant, with plenty of old-timey-style covers of modern songs, and the cast interact with the audience from start to finish, making every audience member feel special.

The performance includes some great twists on the usual circus feats, such as giant cube juggling and an aerial act using a fishing net. An audience participation act involving rope and a jacket has to be seen to be believed! (We have no idea how they did it).

The performances are cheeky while still remaining family-friendly, and the circular venue of the Vault means everyone gets a great view, even the littlest kids.

Circus of Facts is a great addition to Fools Paradise at Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga, a perfect venue for families to enjoy a less busy and more family-friendly space during the Fringe.
