The City of West Torrens has held an annual series of free community events in the West Torrens Memorial Gardens since 2008. Originally called Music in the Park, the event is now known as the City’s Summer Festival.
Summer Festival’s program of live music and outdoor cinema caters to a variety of tastes. Bring your own picnic blanket, chairs, food and drinks to the West Torrens Memorial Gardens most Saturday evenings in January. There will also be food trucks, a sausage sizzle, coffee and cool drinks available to buy.

Saturday 7 January | 5pm – 10.30pm West Torrens Memorial Gardens | 1 Brooker Tce | Hilton
Outdoor cinema (starting at sunset). Children’s entertainment including The Nylon Zoo, giant games and free face painters. Music by Thom Lion, Jessica Braithwaite and friends plus Promise Adelaide. Food trucks, sausage sizzle and free popcorn. BYO chairs and blankets. BYO food and alcohol permitted.
Big Backyard Barbecue
Saturday 14 January | 5pm – 10pm West Torrens Memorial Gardens | 1 Brooker Tce | Hilton
Food trucks and sausage sizzle. Free face painters and children’s activities including giant games and entertainment by Blast Off and Mr Oopy’s Bubble Show. Music by Lazy Eye, Donnarumma, Moses Jones, Rin McArdle and Promise Adelaide. BYO chairs and blankets. BYO food and alcohol permitted.
Holland Street Party
Friday 20 January, 5pm – 9pm Holland Street | Thebarton (River Torrens end)
Join in the party as the new-look Holland Street space is unveiled! Be among the first to see the transformation of Holland Street into a community plaza. Bring your family and friends to see street performers and enjoy the sounds of Nuvo, Jimmy and the Mirrors and DJ Pablito. This is a licensed event with food trucks and bars (no BYO allowed).
All Together Now

City of West Torrens introduces a brand new festival event for 2017 with two stages featuring music by Enosis (Greece), Keep The Change featuring Daniela Fontanarosa (Italy) Local Revolution (Afro roots) and Yaso (Afghanistan). Performances by Adelaide Chinese Dance Academy (China), Fusion Beats (India), Studio Flamenco (Spain), Liberian Children’s Choir (Liberia), Adelaide South African Choir (Africa). Visit the market stalls and enjoy children’s entertainment from The Nylon Zoo, plus giant games, free henna and face painting, food trucks and sausage sizzle. BYO chairs and blankets.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople (PG)

The 60 Four, plus guests
Saturday 4 February, 7pm – 10pm Thebarton Community Centre | Corner South Rd and Ashwin Pde Torrensville
The 60 Four is a four piece Adelaide based group who present the hottest, freshest 60s tribute act. With their slick moves and tight four-part harmonies, the group perform classics by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, The Beatles, Beach Boys, Simon and Garfunkel, The Monkees and many more. Fork on the Road
Saturday 11 February, 5pm – 10pm Kings Reserve & Thebarton Community Centre | Corner South Rd & Ashwin Pde | Torrensville
Fork on the Road returns to Kings Reserve with more than 30 food trucks, free face painters and children’s entertainment including The Nylon Zoo, Blast Off, Dig-a-dino and PLAI space. Outdoor stage features performances by The Wheatsheaf Ukulele Collective, Todd Sibbin and The Arcadian Driftwood, Conchillia, and Aaron Thomas. The Wanderers Rock ‘n’ Roll Car Club display more than 50 cars. Thebarton Community Centre presents The Rhythm Cats, DJ Peter Panagaris and Adelaide Classic Rock ‘n’ Roll dancers. BYO chairs and blankets. Licensed event (no BYO allowed).
WEST TORRENS LITTLE DAY OUT
Free fun for 0-17 year olds during the school holidays!
West Torrens Little Day Out events are free. No bookings required. Little Day Out events will be cancelled if the weather is forecast to be over 36 degrees by the Bureau of Meteorology at 5pm the day prior (excluding Little Day Out: Beach which will be cancelled if the weather is forecast above 40 degrees).

Join in for a variety of games, including Bubble sports. To participate in Bubble sports a parent/guardian must sign a waiver form for each participant.

Pack your bathers, bring along a change of clothes and prepare to get muddy and wet. Splash out with fun water activities. BYO towel and water pistol!
