Clever Kids October Holiday Program – SPELD SA
SPELD SA is a not-for-profit organisation, providing advice and services to children and adults with specific learning difficulties and those who care for, teach, and work with them.
The Clever Kids program is a small group social-emotional wellbeing program designed for children with a diagnosis of dyslexia. It aims to improve the participantsโ self-esteem, resilience and assertiveness, and to help them to develop effective coping strategies, as research shows that these skills are linked to more positive outcomes for individuals with learning difficulties.
Topics covered in the sessions include:
- Self-awareness
- Effective and ineffective coping strategies
- Goal setting
- Problem solving
- Managing stress
- Positive thinking
- Assertiveness
Schedule:
- Students in Year 3 & 4 | 9:30am – 12 noon
- Students in Years 5 & 6 | 1pm – 3:30pm
