Adelaide Dinosaur Festival – DinoFest
Step back in time and encounter a life-sized Tyrannosaurus Rex and its dinosaur friends at DinoFest Dinosaur Festival at the Adelaide Botanic Garden. This exciting outdoor kid-friendly event will take children on a thrilling adventure through the gardens back to the ancient and lost world of the dinosaurs.
This magical and unique experience will be held during the April school holidays and includes a Dinosaur Encounter where children and families can get up close and personal with real-life moving dinosaurs.
There will be an opportunity to meet life-size walking Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus and Carnotaurus as well as lots of cute baby dinosaurs. They also have a special VIP mystery guest dinosaur who’s making her first DinoFest appearance!
You’ll also be guided by an expert DinoFest ranger who will take you and your children on a journey through the garden to learn about how Tyrannosaurs grew from small dog-sized dinosaurs, to become the world’s most fearsome predators.
Quiet Sessions
This is a relaxed quiet session for our VIP Neurodiverse guests who prefer less noise and people.

Travel along the DinoTrail – set in the Australian Forest- where you’ll come face to face with over 30 dinosaurs along the way.
Plane Tree Lawn will be full of other awesome dino activities including a Dino Dig, arts and crafts and a unique ‘feel a fossil’ experience with real dinosaur bones!
The event is set in the beautiful Adelaide Botanic Garden, so you can combine DinoFest with a picnic or walk around the stunning gardens.
Learn more about the prehistoric ferns, cycads, and conifer trees whose descendants still grow in the gardens today.
DinoFest has sold out shows across New Zealand and will be making its Australian debut right here in Adelaide!
Sessions:
There will be 3 sessions each day, each one 90 minutes long: 10:30am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm
Duration: 90 minutes
Tickets:
- Adult: $24
- Child (under 18): $22
- Child under 2 years old: Free
- Senior: $20
- Family/Group ticketing also available
Tickets include a 45-minute ‘Dinosaur Encounter’, dino-themed activities for kids and a DinoTrail featuring 30+ dinosaurs including a life-size Tyrannosaurus Rex.
