Everard Park Reserve and Playground l Review

Everard Park Reserve and Playground

This park is a hidden gem, and it’s situated just off Anzac Highway.

Review by Jo Parkinson

The City of Unley’s Everard Park reserve and playground is a cute, clean, and well-maintained little park that has it all. It has excellent play equipment, lots of shade, BBQ facilities, and our two favourite things; its fully fenced with toilets!

Tucked back in a quiet street, the reserve is the perfect spot to have a picnic with family and friends, or even host a birthday party. In fact, during our visit there we got chatting to some friendly locals, who even refer to it as ‘the birthday park’.

We loved the way most of the playground was fully shaded with a shade cloth, and there are plenty of trees around too.

There is a wide variety of play equipment, suitable for all ages. Older kids will love the big slide, monkey bars, rock climbing wall, swinging see-saw and ninja-style balance ropes.

Our kids’ favourite piece of play equipment was the spinner.

For younger children, there is a 4-way see-saw, slide, animal rockers, and a little undercover area with noughts and crosses.

The dual swings cater for babies and older children and there are a couple of bench seats for adults to sit and watch the kids play, knowing they are safe within the fence line.

Park facilities include:

  • a nice BBQ area with picnic table, however this is just outside the fence boundaries
  • play area that is fully fenced and covered by shade cloth
  • bins that have a plastic bag roll attached, to pick up after your dog
  • unisex toilet, with disabled access and baby change facility
  • drinking fountain

The park is surrounded by a lush, grassed area that has lots of shade. Dogs are allowed off-leash here, between 5pm and 10am.

We highly recommend checking this little beauty out!
