Fairy Ballet Classes at Theatre Bugs

Review by Sharon Harrington

With a Fairy Wave and a Fairy Wiggle, Theatre Bugs classes are a preschooler’s delight!

From the opening dance sequence and sing along of “Fairy Wave and a Fairy Wiggle, a Fairy Kiss and a Fairy Giggle”, my daughter was enchanted with her Theatre Bugs’ Fairy Ballet class.

Head Fairies, Jade and Cassandra, have a warm and kind presence that littlies are drawn to as they are guided through a magical sequence of different weekly adventures. Children transform into beautiful butterflies floating and dancing around the room, they twirl and twirl with rainbow coloured scarves to classical music, and have a chance to get to know their classmates during circle time. The introductory moves to ballet (points, plies, positions etc) are incorporated in a whimsical fairy-like fashion. These classes are designed for 3 to 5 year olds and are all about learning through fun.

Twice yearly, free performances for family and friends are held during class time at their normal venue, which makes them easy to attend. The sets are beautifully designed and show programs are circulated to give the feel of a real musical performance. These performances offer a perfect confidence building, non-pressurized introduction to the stage. Not only will your child have a blast, but also the sight of tiny little preschoolers performing on the stage ranks with some of the cutest memories I have. Each child really does have an opportunity to shine on the stage and professional photos are available to purchase as keepsakes.

My daughter has attended Theatre Bugs classes now for several years, and I have noticed her imagination and confidence bloom, with her holding regular little performances of her own design at home for family and friends (and anyone else who will watch!).

Fairy Ballet is just one of the performing arts classes available at Theatre Bugs. Both of my daughters have had a wonderful time at their Boppy Bugs classes, which have a similar sense of fun and magic with a jazz and drama focus rather than ballet. There are also a variety of classes catering for ages 3 months to 13 years where children can learn to sing, dance and act. This includes Busy Bees, a fun and educational class for babies and toddlers aged 3 months to 3 years old. Parents and grandparents can participate in the Busy Bees class with their child with each class revolving around a special theme as the children discover something new and exciting inside the Surprise Box relating to this theme.

My children have loved spending time at Theatre Bugs over the years and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Book a free trial class today and join in on the fun! It’s a great way for children to have lots of fun, build confidence and develop performing arts skills.
