Free Christmas Snow Photo Sessions and Family Dining at The Gully Public House and Garden

The spirit of Christmas has taken over at The Gully with FREE Christmas snow photography sessions! The Gully’s Snowing Sessions are a picture perfect opportunity for you and your family to dine out and have a photography session in a Christmas Winter Wonderland with faux snow!

**All photo sessions booked out but walk-ins available.***

They have a professional photographer capturing the memories all free of charge. Simply reserve a table for lunch or dinner.

2023 Review

The Gully has gone all out creating a fun white Christmas wonderland for families! The setting in the Bistro and Garden is perfect for families and is decked out with Christmas trees and other decorations everywhere. The whole area is undercover but filled with light, with a variety of seating options including booths near the “let it snow” installation.

There are Christmas trees, wreaths and garlands everywhere. Even the bar is decked out with hundreds of baubles! The greenery in the Bistro adds to the festive, garden-like setting. When the weather is unseasonably cold (such as when we visited) there are large heaters that provide a warm, cozy atmosphere.

Kids meals are well priced and the serves are generous. The usual offerings of nuggets, chips, schnitzels, burgers, pizza and pasta are available. There are even vegan schnitzel and burger options for the kids. Drinks are served in plastic cups, so you don’t have to worry about spills and breakages. The dessert offering of a dixie cup of ice cream with choice of topping and sprinkles provides a very cheap and perfectly portioned dessert for little kids.

The main menu offers the usual pub fare like burgers, schnitzels and pizzas. There are also share options and generous salad bowls. We ordered the crumbed haloumi bowl and southern fried chicken burger, and both were delicious. The serves are large!

Desserts are also well priced and include options like pavlova, creme brulee and sticky date pudding.

The big drawcard is the “let it snow” sessions. These occur  on weekends leading up to Christmas, and although the sessions have now booked out, they are accepting walk-ins. A professional photographer will snap pictures of the kids enjoying the fake snow raining down on them in front of gorgeous Christmas trees. There’s a welcoming plush armchair to sit on for family photos too – and all the photos taken are available free of charge on the hotel’s website.

The Bistro and Garden gets very busy on weekends, so we recommend booking ahead and eating early if you have young children with you. Food arrives very quickly when it’s a bit quieter, but later in the evening it’s understandably busier and service is a little slower.
