Santos Festival of Cycling & WOMAD Free Mini Music Festival Event
The Santos Festival of Cycling and WOMDelaide are collaborating to present a free music event at the City of Adelaide Festival Village during the Santos Festival of Cycling in January 2022.
Held on Friday 28 January 2022 starting at 6:30pm, the 150-minute free event will feature live performances by WOMADelaide artists The Shaolin Afronauts, Nancy Bates and WOMADelaide X NSS Academy graduate, Sokel, with DJ, DJ Cazeaux O.S.L.O (WOMADelaide 2020) also appearing.
Ross McHenry from The Shaolin Afronauts, who has performed at WOMADelaide three times previously with other groups, said The Shaolin Afronauts would put on a captivating performance for the people of South Australia and those visiting the state in January.
Events South Australia Executive Director, Hitaf Rasheed, said the initiative is a coming together of a major sporting event and major music, arts and dance event, creating a perfect synergy between the two.
Aside from this cutting-edge collaboration, the uniquely South Australian Santos Festival of Cycling program includes an inspiring line-up of entertainment options, award-winning performances and a festival vibe which will allow South Australians to connect and celebrate.
