Get Stoked BMX Sessions – 23 & 24 January 2020

Lighthouse Youth Projects is run by Ryan and Jamie. They share a love of riding bikes and being stoked on life. The Get Stoked program is about sharing their passion and skills with the next generation of young shredders.

Curb Dogs Sessions | 9am – 10.30am

New to the game but wanting to get the most of out of your ride? Learn how to ride your bike correctly and have a blast doing it!
Helmets are provided. Please take your own bike if you have one and if not, the crew at Lighthouse will do their best to fit you to one of ours.

As part of Curb Dogs you’ll learn:

  1. Pedalling – learn how to pedal confidently and stand up.
  2.  Stopping – learn how to use your brakes and rip some skids!
  3.  Cornering – learn how to turn into berms and pick the smoothest line.
  4.  Balance – the Box turn will help your balance, bike positioning and brake control.

Drinks and snacks will be provided and you’ll also get a sweet Certificate of completion!

 

 

Spanner Spinners Mechanics Sessions | 11am – 12.30pm

Lighthouse Youth Project’s trained BMX mentors will teach you the skills to keep your bike dialled! They will have tools for you to use and if you have your own bike make sure you take it along.

Fruit and Drinks will be provided. Invite your friends and get ready to learn some valuable skills! All ages welcome!

 

Get Stoked BMX ‘Grommets’ Sessions | 1pm – 3pm

Take your skills to the next level and learn the FUNdamental skills of pumping and jumping with their experienced riding Mentors! These sessions are aimed at intermediate riders looking to add more skills to their game.

During this session you will learn:

  1. Pumping – learn how to pump through rollers and go faster without pedalling.
  2. Manuals – learn how to wheelie on the back wheel without pedalling.
  3. Jumping – learn how to get airborne safely and jump tabletops.

Helmets are provided, Please take your own bike if you have one and if not we they will do their best to fit you to one of ours.

Food and drinks are provided and you will end up with a rad Certificate of completion!
