What is Glitter Pines?
Glitter Pines is the incredible creation by Danny Bilan, Creative Producer of Stage Lab. Usually working on stage productions and fashion shows, his wonderful idea to bring a brand new, super unique experience to the people of Adelaide has come to life. This event is ticketed and must be booked online prior to visiting.
Situated at Sunjive Studios in Hendon, Glitter Pines is made up of two main areas, connected by a laser light room. The whole place has a magical, ‘Christmassy’ feel to it and is full of surprises; we had no idea what was coming next! The experience lasts approximately 1 hour, and during that time, guests are free to explore the different areas and try the activities before watching an amazing 20-minute LED light show at the end.
The Experience
Ever wondered what it would be like to walk around in a forest of more than 300 glittery Christmas trees? Neither had we, but we can definitely recommend it! From the moment you step into Glitter Pines, it feels like you have arrived at Elsa’s ice castle in Frozen. As you follow the paths, it becomes an adventure and an escape from reality, as you become immersed in a world of trees, snow, and light.
Highlights
Our young reviewers loved walking through the snowy forest and discovering digital activities along the way, such as interactive walls. The VR headsets were a hit, as were the UV glow-in-the-dark tattoos, and just when you least expect it, it starts snowing! There were lots of cries of delight and excited ‘Wow, look at this!’ moments coming from our reviewers throughout!
There is pleasant background music throughout the experience to really create the atmosphere, and the soundtrack for the light show is fantastic. Although the majority of Glitter Pines is Christmas themed, the light show also has a party/disco feel to it, which was unexpected but great fun!
We absolutely loved our visit to Glitter Pines, so much so that our 9-year-old reviewer said she never wanted to leave! We highly recommend adding this fun and unique experience to your holiday activity list to get you in the Christmas spirit!
Things to consider:
- We were unsure if maps had taken us to the right spot when we were almost there! Sunjive Studios is located behind warehouses – look out for the sign pointing to the car park.
- There is plenty of on-site car parking available
- Glitter Pines is great for all ages, but we would recommend age 5 and up. If you have very young children who are scared of the dark, there are a couple of moments when most of the lights are out, so it’s best to warn them. It’s also great to check out, even if you don’t have children. In fact, there are plans next year to do some adult-only sessions!
- We loved the sensory factors such as snow, smoke machines, strobe lighting and fairly loud music. However, if you are visiting with someone who has sensitivities to these, this is something to consider.
