Government House Garden Tours & Open Days

Government House in Adelaide is the oldest Government House in Australia.

As Government House is the private residence of the Governor’s family, and the formal rooms are constantly used for official functions, it is not routinely open to the public.  The house and gardens are however occasionally opened to the public during special open days. During a tour of the public rooms you can learn about the current workings of the House and explore the extensive gardens.

Garden Tours are offered by Friends of the Botanic Gardens on Government House open days, usually held twice a year in March and November.
