Following its dazzling debut last year, the spectacular Hong Kong Dragon Lantern is back to light up the Riverbank Footbridge as part of the OzAsia Festival, and this time it’s here for even longer.
Designed by renowned Hong Kong artist Vivian Ho, this breathtaking 40-metre-long installation draws inspiration from the Kowloon Walled City, blending her signature cityscape style with themes of nature and community. The result? A glowing, larger-than-life dragon that’s as intricate as it is mesmerising. On display for over two weeks, you can walk alongside the dragon day or night and it is completely free to view.
Whether you’re exploring the OzAsia Festival or simply strolling along the river at night, the Hong Kong Dragon Lantern is a must-see, and the perfect photo moment to capture the magic of Adelaide’s multicultural celebration. You can’t miss it up on the Riverbank Footbridge, overlooking the Lucky Dumpling Market in Elder Park. It is just as beautiful to visit during daylight hours as it is at night, so perfect for young families.
