Dillons Norwood Bookshop
Dillons Bookshop in Norwood is South Australia’s largest independent family owned bookshop. They recently completed a renovation to double the size of their children’s section and it is well worth a visit.
South Australia’s largest independent family owned book shop for more than 20 years, Dillons is well known for its massive range of fiction books, non-fiction reference books, music CDs, entertainment DVDs, gift ideas and friendly knowledgeable staff to help you. The team pride themselves in sourcing the hardest titles and also have a wonderful ABC Centre in store.
In June 2019 Dillons renovated the former CD/DVD section and the results are fabulous – increasing the children’s area to now stock the largest selection of books for kids in Adelaide.
Yes, we know that you can buy some of the books a couple of dollars cheaper online or at major department stores, but you won’t find the huge selection available at a good book store like this. At a book store you will also find knowledgeable staff who will be happy to assist with finding the right books for children. There’s nothing like opening up a new book and turning actual paper pages and we hope that book stores will stay around so we can keep enjoying this experience.
There is also a great range of toys, gifts, cards and costumes (very handy for book week parades)!
The new interior features a striking tree designed by Georgie Shepherd Interior Design, incorporating themes of childhood wonder. Constructed from ply and eco panel, the tree stands proudly as the bookshop’s new centrepiece, surrounded by moss green carpet which will soon include floor cushions too. The ceiling features felt grey clouds and playful rainbows above the bookshelves.
Dillons also stock ABC Kids toys so you’ll find Play School friends here as pictured below.
