Ridiculous Playground promised a whole lot of ridiculous fun and laughs – and they have certainly brought it to Adelaide. We had an amazing fun-filled two hours of very active fun on their epic inflatable course.
There are some stations that are dry and some that are wet. We suggest doing the dry ones first if you don’t want to be wet for the whole 2 hours.
The Commando Drop below is a dry slide to start the fun.
Here’s how you get to the top:
The Leap of Faith below is a 3 metre free fall. It looks much tamer from the ground, but from the top looking down at the target you’re supposed to jump on, I can tell you it’s a long way up, and not for the faint-hearted!
The red Balls of Glory provide plenty of laughs with some very funny face plants and awkward moves – it’s okay, as everyone else is in exactly the same boat and just as funny.
You can try your luck on the Sticky Wall below.
The Rat Race obstacle course is a fun way to race your mates as you throw yourself over each barrier. You will get plenty of exercise with a complete workout over the two hour session.
The Tug of War rope below is also a bit of fun, and there’s usually other people willing to help you out if you need some muscle on your side.
The Bungee Run is also another dry activity where you can (try) race a friend while being pulled back by elastic to the wall.
When you’re ready to get wet, then there’s plenty of fluffy fun at the FOMO Fury, a foamy slip and slide.
This was hugely popular as you can imagine. It’s much foamier and smoother than your backyard slip n slide from Cheap as Chips, that’s for sure.
Try your luck with the Dunking machine. Beware, there’s no rules here so your mates don’t have to stand behind any line and can get as close to the target as they like. Be prepared to get wet!
For those who want more thrills, then the Scream Tower, (also known as the Big Hippo) is a towering 4 story waterslide which will really get your heart racing.
As Ridiculous Playground is for ages 10 years and over, it’s a great opportunity for families with older children to have some fun together. We are often told that there’s not enough events and things for older kids – well, this is perfect. You get to go outdoors, do something active, and enjoy some fun together. It’s perfect for some bonding with those tweens and teenagers – what better way than having a few laughs together. And be prepared for your kids to have a good laugh at you – there’s no elegant way to mount inflatable barriers and balls!
It was great to see families and friends having a ball today. Some got into the spirit by dressing up in teams. A group of families we saw had all the mums wearing one colour t-shirt, all the Dads in another colour and the kids in their own.
The sessions are capped so that there are not too many people on the course. There weren’t long line-ups for each station at all and most people will be quite exhausted by the time the 2 hours are up. It was plenty of time to have a few turns at all the different inflatables. You don’t need to be an expert on any of the inflatables or even particularly fit to have a go. You can go at your own pace and it’s not a race so you can take your time.
Hit 107 Radio provides background music to add a party atmosphere. There are stalls there to buy coffee, drinks, snacks, hotdogs. You can buy merchandise there – tshirts, colourful stripey socks, coloured tutus, headbands etc.
