Open from 29 September 2018 for 2018/2019 Summer Season

Splash Town in Moonta Bay is situated just near the playground on the foreshore at Moonta Bay, right near the Moonta Bay Caravan Park. Best of all it’s a FREE water park open to the public.  Here are some photos of the waterslides and water bucket below. We’ve highlighted some information about Splash Town below that you might like to know if you are visiting.

Splash Town opening hours

Splash Town opening days are from Sunday 29 September 2018 until Sunday 28 April 2019:

SA School Holidays, Weekends and Public Holidays (closed Christmas Day).

  • Open 12 noon to 6pm daily

SA School Terms

  • Wednesday to Friday – Open 2pm to 6pm
  • Monday and Tuesday closed (for maintenance)

Sometimes maintenance issues have caused them to open later or shut earlier. The opening times vary during the season.

If you are making a special trip to Moonta especially for the water park then please be sure to check with the District Council of the Copper Coast Facebook Page or the District Council of The Copper Coast website here for opening times to avoid disappointment. They post opening times regularly on this page.

As it is a public play space the Copper Coast Council have signs reminding visitors that you play there at your own risk. There are no staff there to supervise children – as with any public park, supervision is the responsibility of parents and caretakers.

The water bucket tips water out with quite a big splash – little ones may get knocked over or scared by this.

As you can see below, there is not much shade or seating so be prepared for this. You may find yourself standing for quite a while when supervising the kids. Little kids will need help at the end of the waterslides to move out the way quickly so they don’t get knocked over by the next slider.

What to see and do in Moonta

Moonta (on the Yorke Peninsula, about 165km from Adelaide) is a great spot for a family holiday.
There’s the Moonta Mines Historical Railway, old fashioned sweet shop, the fabulous Coffee Barn Gelateria (who make the best gelati around), the fenced pool off the jetty, kid-friendly beaches, playgrounds, bike park, great Indian restaurant at the pub, great beachfront caravan parks and now, a Water Park!!

Thanks to our Play & Go friends Ruth & Eileen for the pics & info.
