The Coffee Barn & Gelataria – Moonta
For ice cream and coffee in Moonta the cutest spot is the Coffee Barn & Gelataria. It’s a hidden gem just outside of the town, off the Spencer Highway.
This unique and quirky eatery feels like you have been transported to a little desert oasis with a very vintage vibe. Just look out for the sign above and follow the dirt road for about 100 metres around to the back.
The cafe offers seating both outdoors and indoors.
There is a variety of gelato ice cream and sorbet flavours, all made on the premises. There were 16 different flavours when we visited.
Also favourites are their pancakes which are thinner and more crepe like. You can order these with a variety of different accompaniments and ice cream. They are also well known for their Italian custard. Milk shakes and iced coffees are popular too.
