Kadina Community Library | Copper Coast Council

Kadina Community Library

Kadina Community Library is part of an educational precinct located along Doswell Terrace which consists of the community library, TAFE, a child care centre, pre-school centre, Kadina Memorial School (a super school of over 1000 students) and a sport and leisure centre. A Uni Hub will be operating onsite in 2021 as well.

Copper Coast Council provides 3 libraries across the main towns in the council area – the main library at Kadina, a branch library co-located with the Council office at Wallaroo and a school community library at Moonta. With a total population of 15000 in the council area, the libraries attract a high number of visitors who take advantage of the One Card system.

Opened in 1999, Kadina Community Library is a bright and airy space and a community hub for all to enjoy.

The library has a specific emphasis on Lifelong Learning beginning with the early years and the spaces and programs reflect this.

For adults, there is a local history room, extensive study and reading space, meeting rooms, free wi-fi and computer use, daily newspapers and an extensive library collection.

Children’s Toy Library & Programs

For children, there is a dedicated children’s library space that includes a free toy library as well as an extensive library collection.

Programs are offered to the public 3 days a week at 10.30am:

  • Wriggle & Giggle Time | Tuesdays
  • Rhythm & Rhyme Time | Thursdays
  • Bookbugs Storytime | Fridays

The library also hosts weekly visits from the local pre-school centre and the 2 child care centres in Kadina.
