La Festa Italiana at the Rezz Hotel | Review

Festivalgoers got to experience a taste of Italy, right in the City of Campbelltown, at the Rezz Hotel.

Italian food, cars and music – what could be a better way to enjoy the last weekend of the Adelaide Italian Festival?

Review by Carla Caruso

Campbelltown City Council and the Rezz Hotel paired up to put on an outdoor experience, celebrating all things Italian, on Saturday 9 November 2024. It was dubbed La Festa Italiana.

Among the festivities, attendees got to indulge in fare from street-style food stalls, including polenta with pork and gravy (unbelievably good!), arancini, pizza, and zeppoli, plus zingy aperol spritzes. There was also a live demonstration of pasta-making, free children’s games, and more.

In between, our twins had fun checking out the Kids’ Zone inside the hotel, which boasts everything from claw machines to an air hockey table and a soft playground. (Check out our previous review of the hotel here.)

The hotel is also a hop, skip and a jump away from Thorndon Park Reserve. There, you’ll find a massive playground (with a bird-shaped slide), a ping pong table, giant chess board, and natural wetlands.

As well, the hotel’s super-close to outlets selling Italian delicacies, such as La Vera Cheeses and San José Smallgoods. So, you can do some shopping while you’re in the ‘hood!

The festa was a bellissimo way to immerse our fam in the vibrant flavours of Italy – in the heart of Adelaide’s very own Little Italy.
