Marion Celebrates ‘Many Cultures, One Earth’ – Family Friendly Festival
After a four-year hiatus and an exciting makeover, the much-loved and free, biennial Marion Celebrates festival kicks off once again this Spring.
Marion Celebrates is a biennial event which has been running for 20 years, with 10 festivals to date at various locations in Marion including the Marion Cultural Centre and the Living Kaurna Cultural Centre. The festival has a reputation as a family-friendly event with a focus on art and cultural experiences and sustainability for all to enjoy.
To be held for the first time inside the beautiful grounds of the Glandore Community Centre, the festival will celebrate the city’s rich diversity, in line with the 2023 theme: ‘Many Cultures, One Earth’. It is site specific and encourages the community to engage in celebrating in their local area, by bringing residents and visitors together to enjoy a program of performances, workshops, and various family friendly activities in a relaxed environment.
Activities will include face painting, children’s storytelling, line dancing, and chalk drawing. The main stage will include Sun of Africa Drum & Dance Ensemble, the Cartel Afinke Latin Band, The Atlantic Street Band, The Adelaide Allsorts Harmony Chorus and more.
Grab a bite to eat or drink from a fabulous variety of food trucks.
The 2023 program will be released closer to the event.
