Parks SA – Park of the Month – February 2023

Park of the Month is a great way to gain a deeper understanding of South Australia’s special natural places and to find new ways to enjoy them.  Each month is a different location and there are fabulous events and activities on offer for families, with many free to join in.

Park of the Month for February 2023 is Hallett Cove and Marino Conservation Parks. Take a look at some of the highlight events below:

Drawing Nature Workshop with artist Gilbert Dashorst

• Sunday 26 February 2023 (9:30am and 12:30pm)
• Marino Conservation Park
• Cost: Free  (suitable 8+ years) BOOK HERE
• Discover the joy of drawing and let nature inspire you to create your own masterpiece under the direction of a world renowned artist.  With Marino Conservation Park as your inspiration, you can create art that draws on the aspects of nature from rocks, animals, birds or the beautiful panoramic view of Adelaide in front of you.

Forest Bathing at the Beach

• Saturday 11 February 2023 (6:30pm)
• Hallett Cove Conservation Park
• Cost: Free (suitable 8+ years) BOOK HERE
• Connect with nature and engage your 5 senses – listening, touching, smelling, tasting and allow yourself to just ‘be’.
  Forest Bathing is not about walking or nature identification, or ‘thinking’. There is no swimming or getting wet required. Instead, you are invited to calm your mind and enjoy the rich sensory environment, where the sky meets the ocean.

Snorkel Hallett Cove Beach

• Saturday 11 February 2023 (various times)
• Hallett Cove Conservation Park
• Cost: Fees apply BOOK HERE
• Join Experience Marine Sanctuaries for a guided snorkel at Hallett Cove Beach.  The reef is home is home to an amazing variety of colourful fish and plant life, with tours staying close to the reef. Keep your eyes peeled for biscuit stars and sea urchins. READ OUR REVIEW HERE

Family Nature Walk

• Sunday 26 February 2023 (9am)
• Hallett Cove Conservation Park
• Cost: Free BOOKED OUT
• Enjoy a guided family nature walk with Burka-Senior man of Culture, Karl Winda Telfer, Mullawirra Meyunna – Dry Forest country and Jason Tyndall from Nature Play SA. Learn about the plants and wildlife that call Hallett Cove home.
