The Adelaide100® New Walking Trail | 100km Walking Trail Loop around Adelaide

The Adelaide100® Walking Trail

A loop walking trail of over 100km that takes in the coast, waterways and Adelaide Hills, the Adelaide100® is a trail that is being built and marked. Linking up existing infrastructure and creating short distance links to create the 100km trail, it is anticipated being completed mid 2021.

The first post of the official Adelaide100® Trail was installed on 13 June 2017 in the Adelaide Hills, directing walkers along Monument Road between Norton Summit and Debneys Road.

The areas are divided into the following sections:

  • Athelstone to West Beach (via Adelaide)
  • West Beach to Kinston Park (via Glenelg)
  • Kinston Park to Stirling (via Darlington & Belair)
  • Stirling to Athelstone (via Norton Summit)

July 2020 Update: 20km of the trail has now been installed.

Holdfast Bay’s walking trail section starts at the Patawalonga and winds its way past Glenelg, Brighton and Seacliff beaches, with the final signposts near the Tjilbruke monument and Kingston House. The final sign in the Holdfast Bay area is on Arthur Street leading into Gilbertson Gully.

The trail can be started from any point along the circuit, and spans from the beautiful coastline, through the CBD and suburbs, and into the Adelaide Hills. The circuit utilises existing trails, accommodation, and services. Attractive and enjoyable walking environments are the foundation of healthy communities and the Adelaide100® will enable more people to walk more often.
