The Farm Willunga Cafe | Review

The Farm Willunga Cafe – family-friendly casual dining with a garden setting
Review by Claire Davill
Just out of Willunga, down a quiet country lane, is a beautiful cafe with rustic food, good coffee and lovely places to eat inside and out.

The Farm is just that – a farm, with olive groves, vineyards and gently sloping paddocks with views down to the coast. It’s also a function centre and provides B&B accommodation, and from Friday to Monday, operates a fully licensed cafe offering breakfast and lunch.

The menu offers a range of breakfast options like pancakes, granola, and bacon and eggs. Lunch options include soup, pasta, pies, burgers and toasties, and there are cakes and scones on offer as well. The menu changes seasonally.

We tried the bacon and eggs and Tunisian hash browns during our visit. Both were well cooked with nicely poached eggs, crispy bacon and thick, hearty sourdough.

Children’s Menu
The children’s menu has affordable options like bacon and eggs, chicken tenders and chips, and ham and cheese toasties. We had chicken tenders and chips (even though we were visiting for breakfast!).

Drinks include coffees, teas, fruit juice and milkshakes. The milkshakes are served in old-fashioned metal milkshake mixer cups.

Inside the cafe, there is a high ceiling space with plenty of natural light and lots of tables. In good weather, the large barn doors are opened to the outdoor dining area. This area has several tables in the garden area, including small kid sized chairs.

Inside the cafe there are local artisan products for sale, these are definitely worth a look.
