Adelaide Hills Swimming Pool & Splash Park | Woodside | Review

The Splash Park in Woodside is newly opened and perfect for fun in the Summer sun!

Review by Adaire Prosser

The new splash park addition to the Adelaide Hills War Memorial Swimming Centre in Woodside is the perfect summer activity for families in the Adelaide Hills. Newly opened in November 2025, it is a great place to cool off on those hot summer days and evenings. We took our two young reviewers to check it out, and there was so much to keep them entertained. A bright yellow flower shower, a big water dumping bucket, a pumping faucet with sliding grates to create streams and puddles, as well as mushrooms, arches and spray guns.

Our five year old reviewer loved running through the arches and ninja kicking the water spraying out of the ground and mushroom pillars. Our two year old reviewer had the most fun playing with the lift grates to create small streams and puddles to splash in.

Both were a little hesitant to stand under the dumping bucket, but this was popular with a lot of the other kids in attendance and looks like the best way to cool down quickly.

The new splash park is well designed with each feature spread out to allow room for the kids to easily move around, even when it’s busy. The surface is non-slip and not too rough for little feet. There is also a ramp leading up to the main splash area for accessibility to the arches and flower shower.

The splash park is situated at the Adelaide Hills Memorial Swimming Centre in Woodside, and also features three different sized pools. A small splash pool for babies and toddlers that is 0.2m deep; a medium pool for children with some confidence in water and a 25m lap pool. All three pools are heated, and there is full shade over the baby pool and medium pool.

There is a small café style shop onsite for coffee and snacks, change rooms and plenty of shaded and unshaded seating and grassed area. You can also take along your own food.  The opening hours can vary based on whether its school holidays or during term, and may be closed if the forecast is less than 25 degrees. You can check their website or Facebook page for opening times before planning a trip.

Things to Consider:

  • As with most swimming centres, make sure that adults accompanying children are prepared to go into the water with them depending on age. Check the Swimming Centre’s website for their rules around supervision.
  • While the smaller pools are fully shaded, the 25m pool is only partially shaded, and the splash park is unshaded. Hats and sunscreen will be needed on hot days.
  • Opening hours are subject to daily weather conditions and the pool may be closed if the forecast is less than 25 degrees. You can check on their Facebook page to confirm, and they are quite responsive to comments/messages if unsure.

Location:

Nairne Road, Woodside.

Some car parking is available on site, but can get full on hot days.
