The big Village Green Fair is on again in Kadina on Saturday 23 May, hosted by the Northern Yorke Peninsula Rotary Club. Here you’ll find approximately 100 market stalls, rotunda entertainment, the Cousin Jack and Jenny competition, Maypole and Furry Dancing and new in 2015 a wonderland of children’s activities, “Piskey Hollow Hall”.

This is the 21st Cornish Festival and Richard Davis of The Patio Restaurant at Moonta Bay has produced a special 21st commemorative label for Swanky beer this year to mark the milestone.

Firsts in the 2015 program are a comedy show at the Ascot Theatre (featuring the infamous Kernow King from Cornwall, on his maiden voyage to Australia) and the Cornish Troyl Dinner Dance at Wallaroo Community Sports Club (featuring the award-winning The Borderers); and back again after sell out success in 2013 are the Country Music Concert at Kadina Town Hall (this time featuring Wayne Horsburgh, Graeme Hugo and Amber Joy Poulton) plus the fantastic Bonanza Concert showcase of local talent at the Wallaroo Town Hall.

There are new categories for the prestigious Newbery Chemist Art Prize Exhibition; four cemeteries are now staging Dressing of the Graves events (Kadina, Wallaroo, Moonta and Green Plains, (the latter a new inclusion) and all this with an even bigger tally of displays and activities staged by busy local community groups.
