Tusmore Park Wading Pool – Refurbishment Plans

Tusmore Park Wading Pool Upgrade – Concept Plans Revealed

The Tusmore Park wading pool has been popular with families, particularly those with toddler-aged children, for many years. However, at more than 50 years old it has reached the end of its useful life and the new refurbishment plans have been revealed.

In recent times, closures of the pool have become more frequent due to the ageing infrastructure, its design and a number of other factors which contribute to health related risks.

Following the opportunity for the community to provide feedback to help Burnside Council determine the future of this space, exciting new plans have now been revealed. The community’s preferred design was Option 2, which is a full wading pool with an additional ‘creek’ style section. This design was endorsed by Council in January 2021, and the project progressed to the detailed design stage.

The construction timeline is dependant on the tender process, with a development application for the new design recently lodged.  It is hoped the refurbishment will start later this year.
