Christmas in Barossa is about small towns coming together, catching up while wandering between stalls and street food and watching the kids’ eyes light up when Santa arrives. It’s also a great reminder of why community matters.
Over the coming weeks, Barossa’s main streets and village greens will come alive with twilight markets, community BBQs, carols, fairy lights and that unmistakable country Christmas spirit. If you’re looking for a way to celebrate the local Christmas street parties, make sure to mark these dates in your calendar:
Angaston Christmas Parade | Friday 28 November, from 5pm
Go along with family and friends to experience more than 35 vibrant floats, each bringing its own sparkle to this much-loved tradition – and yes, Santa himself will be there to spread some Christmas cheer!
The fun doesn’t stop with the parade. Wander the bustling street and discover live music by Little Black Dress, delicious eats and family entertainment.
Barossa Christmas Parade, Tanunda | Friday 5 December, from 5pm
Enjoy a Christmas parade along Murray Street, Tanunda from 7pm. Enjoy food and activities from 5pm. There will also be free animal displays, bouncy castles and face painting.
Christmas in Kapunda | Friday 5 December, from 5pm
Celebrate Christmas in Kapunda with music, entertainment, activities, Santa and the lighting of the Town Tree. There will also be market stalls and live music at the Prince of Wales Hotel and fun activities at Light Community Church.
Mount Pleasant Christmas Parade and Street Party | Saturday 6 December, from 5:30pm
Celebrate the festive season with a Christmas Parade and Street Party in the main street of Mount Pleasant. The parade will begin at Taluga Park and head into the heart of the town outside Soldiers Memorial Hall. The main street will be lined with market stalls offering crafts, gifts, food and drinks. Plus, there will be kids activities, street performers, competitions, raffles and a visit from Santa.
Williamstown Christmas Fair | Sunday 7 December, from 12pm
Christmas is coming to Williamstown for the annual Williamstown Christmas Fair. Enjoy food and drinks, market stalls, entertainment, circus elements, a petting zoo, bouncy castle, face painting, raffles and a visit from Santa.
Greenock Christmas in the Park | Friday 12 December, from 5pm
Enjoy a festive evening of local food, drinks, music, entertainment and community cheer at Greenock Centenary Park. There will be a range of food and beverage stalls, plus handmade crafts and gifts for some last-minute Christmas shopping. There will also be a visit from Santa.
Entry is by gold coin donation and dressing up in your best Christmas outfit is encouraged (there will be prizes). Take along your own picnic rugs and chairs.
Freeling Christmas Street Party | Friday 12 December, from 5pm
The Freeling Christmas Street Party includes a parade, competitions, stalls with food and goodies, rides, a raffle and a visit from Santa. Plus, free activities including face painting, airbrush tattoos, a silent disco and Farm Barns Petting Zoo.
Lyndoch Christmas Street Party | Friday 12 December, from 6pm
Go along for a night of live music, food, stalls, kids’ fun & community vibes in the heart of the Barossa for the Lyndoch Christmas Street Party. This is a vibrant, community-driven celebration held at Lyndoch’s Main Street.
