City of Adelaide's NYE New Year's Eve Family Friendly Celebration

Adelaide New Year’s Eve on the Riverbank: A Family-Friendly Way to Welcome 2026!

Adelaide’s New Year’s Eve on the Riverbank at Elder Park / Tarntanya Wama is one of the city’s largest free family-friendly celebrations, offering live music, kids’ activities, food stalls and two spectacular fireworks shows. Showcasing the best of South Australia through a talented line-up of local musicians and entertainers, it’s a much-loved local tradition and the perfect way for families and friends to welcome the new year together in a safe and inclusive environment.

What to expect?

A main stage with live music all night, a family-friendly area with lots of activities for the young ones, a circus stage and roving performers, delicious food and drink options and two show-stopping fireworks displays at 9pm and 12am.

What to bring?

  • a debit or credit card (all food and drink purchases are cashless via EFTPOS)
  • a refillable water bottle (free water stations available)
  • a picnic blanket or low deck chairs
  • sun protection for before sunset (hat, shirts, sunscreen)
  • warm layers for the evening – there can be a coole breeze off the river

This year’s New Year’s Eve event site is fully accessible, with an accessible viewing area located beside the main stage, as well as a dedicated accessible toilet.
