Angaston Adventure Station Playground | Review

The Angaston Adventure Station is the number one playground to visit on a Barossa Valley day trip!
Review by Angelica-Hazel Toutounji
The Barossa Valley is a beautiful part of South Australia to visit year round. Whilst the Barossa Valley might not be the first choice for a family day trip, the region surprisingly packs a punch when it comes to kid friendly activities and the Angaston Adventure Station is no exception!

Located in the heart of Angaston, the Adventure Station playground is eye catching, impressive and a fantastic option for kids to burn some energy. Pulling into the car park, we were instantly drawn to the heritage design that blends the natural landscape with the wide open space and provides a nod to the original railway station next door.

As we made our way to explore the playground the first thing that we noticed was the epic enclosed slide that runs from the giant Angaston sign. Moving further into the playground we discovered a basketball court, skate park, zip line, in-ground trampolines and a one kilometre mountain bike trail.

Other features that we loved about this playground were the open lawn areas for picnics, outdoor fitness stations, shaded BBQs, ample parking and multiple places to sit.

We visited with kids aged four and over and found that the park had plenty to offer them and they were able to run around quite freely. That being said we did notice that this playground catered well for this age group but younger kids might find it challenging to move around and limited in terms of play equipment.

All in all, we loved visiting this gem of a playground and will make a special stop to revisit the next time we find ourselves in the area. Not only is it close to our favourite donut shop (shout out Browns Barossa) the wide open space and great facilities make it a perfect pit stop for our kids.

Things to Consider:
- children under 3 will require close supervision due to the hard surfaces
Our favourite nearby coffee spots/cafes:
- Browns Barossa donuts, good coffee and donuts
Location:
Washington St, Angaston
