Easy to make shape biscuits recipe
If you are looking for a biscuit recipe that you can cut into all kinds of weird and wonderful shapes with a biscuit cutter, then this is the recipe that will help you achieve that. This has to be one of the simplest, easiest recipes that turns out brilliantly every time and it’s also a fun recipe to make with the kids as it involves rolling and cutting.
Ingredients:
- 110g softened butter
- 1/2 cup caster sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla (extract or substitute)
- 3/4 cup plain flour
- 3/4 self raising flour
Icing
- Pure icing sugar
- Boiling water
- Food colouring
Instructions
- Grease 2 large baking trays or line with non-stick baking paper
- Preheat the oven to 160 C (fan-forced)
- Cream butter and sugar
- Beat in egg and vanilla
- Add sifted flours and mix to a dough then place onto well-floured surface
- Place baking paper over dough and roll out until smooth and approximately 5mm thick
- Cut dough into shapes with biscuit cutters
- Bake for 8-10 minutes
- Combine pure icing sugar, boiling water and food colouring until mixture is slightly runny
- Ice biscuits with icing mixture and decorate with sprinkles or other toppings
