Free Public Skate Sessions at the IceArena for 1 week only.
The IceArena in Thebarton has re-opened under new management and new operator, Richard Laidlaw, has announced that all public skate sessions from Saturday 25 November until and including Saturday 2 December 2023 are FREE ENTRY.
The IceArena is South Australia’s premier ice sports and recreational ice skating facility located on James Congdon Drive in Thebarton, just 5 minutes from the Adelaide CBD.
School Term Hours
- Weekday Sessions: 11am – 3pm
- Cheap Skate Wednesdays: 8pm – 11pm
- Friday & Saturday Nights: 7.30pm – 10.30pm
- Saturday & Sunday Afternoon Sessions: 12.30pm – 3.30pm
- Public Holidays 12.30-3.30pm (unless otherwise stated)

Ice Skating Prices
The IceArenA recognises most forms of student and concession cards and family/group packages are available. Take along your own skates for cheaper entry or hire skates at the venue. (Prices subject to change without notice)
General Entry – Ages 4-12 years (under 3 free)
- Entry Including Skate Hire – $26.50
- Entry Excluding Skate Hire – $22.50
General Entry – Ages 13+
- Entry Including Skate Hire – $33.50
- Entry Excluding Skate Hire – $29.50
General Entry – Student/Concession
- Entry Including Skate Hire – $29.50
- Entry Excluding Skate Hire – $25.50
General Entry – Family Groups (2A+2C or 1A+3C)
- Entry Including Skate Hire – $99.50 (extra child $21 each)
- Entry Excluding Skate Hire – $82.50 (extra child $17 each)
Snow Play
The IceArenA hosts Snow Play sessions during the school term from 10am to 12pm every Thursday and Sunday. It’s a two hour session for children aged 0-12 years to experience snow in a safe, fun filled environment all year round. Bookings are essential – read more here
Free Come & Try Sessions
The IceArenA offers free “Come & Try” classes to those wanting a few tips on how to skate or considering taking group classes.
Sessions are on Saturdays 12pm – 12.30pm.
