Big Family Weekend | Come Out Children’s Festival
A weekend full of performances, workshops, arts and crafts for the whole family.

The Big Family Weekend will take over Adelaide Festival Centre and surrounds with a host of FREE activities including:
- Free Popeye and Paddleboat rides on The Torrens
- Live performances on an outdoor stage under the Terrace at the Festival Centre. There will be dancers, kids comedy, magic, cabaret, school bands, traditional Indian and Bollywood dancing, a Frozen Sing-along, Young Adelaide Voices Junior Choir and much more! Each day will finish with a DJ/band that will get everyone up and dancing, even the adults. {Schedule will be released closer to the day}
- Get creative with our craft and dance workshops including Something on Saturday craft workshops
- Explore a Cardboard Cubby Town
- Robot Road Trip by Cake Industries – join in the fun with Robot Soccer, Robot Storytime and more
- Dance at a Silent Disco with DJ Patch
- Listen to stories and meet famous Australian authors in the Little Tent of Stories by the Little Big Book Club
- Family-friendly backstage tours of the Adelaide Festival Centre
- Get hands-on with nature in the Nature Play tent by Adelaide City Council & Nature Play SA
- Make your mark on a giant finger painting… They’re attempting to break a Guinness World Record for the most people contributing to a painting!
- Send a Postcard to a Hope Street somewhere in the world… Will you get a reply?
- Whip up a pasta meal at the San Remo Kids Kitchen
- Star Dome by SciWorld
- Try out some circus activities with Cirkidz workshops at the Blue Hive (Riverbank promenade, near the footbridge)
- Visual arts exhibitions including the art of illustrating picture books and a celebration of 40 years of Come Out.
