Nature Festival 2025: Flow
Nature Festival returns for its 6th year with over 400 nature-inspired events across South Australia in art, adventure, music, food, wine, wellbeing, and Aboriginal culture. This includes fun family-friendly events, designed to connect you with nature.
This year the festival explores the theme of Flow, from rivers and oceans to creative flow, impermanence and ephemeral desert flow, to the flow of communities and generations.

Here’s just a selection of family friendly events that formed part of Nature Festival 2024:
Thorndon Park Kids’ Nature Trail Launch and activities
The Thorndon Park Kids Nature Trail is a new loop walk along the Thorndon Park wetlands and lake which takes around 30 minutes which will be launched on 9 October 2024. Activities include an art and craft workshop, learning about Kaurna culture and you can also take home a Nature Trail Activity Booklet.
Explore Bat World
As the sun begins to set, set up your picnic to watch the absolutely mesmerizing nightly fly-out as the Flying-foxes head out to feed and perform their ecological duties of pollination and seed dispersal.

Along the River
Set within Felixstow Reserve, surrounded by majestic river gums, native flora and abundant bird life, wetlands and walking tracks to explore, this is an event you won’t want to miss. Free activities include sunflower bee bombs, bee hotels and tours of the river.

Wildflower wander: Family Nature and Culture Walk
Join Nature Play SA and Kauwanu Tamaru for an interactive wildflower wander in Scott Creek Conservation Park.

Barossa Bushgardens Nature Play Festival
A free Nature Play Festival at the Barossa Bushgardens suitable for children 0 to 10 years of age offering nature-based craft activities, games, mud kitchen, story nook, miniature and more.

Twilight Enchanted Forest Fairy Potion Play Party
Enjoy a magical evening of mindful Potion making with their Forest fairy hosts. Adorned with fairy lights and the most gorgeous potion setups yet, your little ones will be immersed in nature by the creek with their sensory delights!

Immerse yourself in breathtaking video content, projected in Planetarium Adelaide’s dome for a captivating educational experience. This engaging and educational narrative showcases the incredible biodiversity and MEGAfauna of the Great Southern Reef.

Accessibility
Guided walk will follow walking trails that have a slight incline. Trail surface is unsealed and uneven.
