Oaklands Recreation Plaza | Oaklands Park

Oaklands Recreation Plaza

Oaklands Recreation Plaza has all the facilities to make it the perfect place to take the whole family and spend a few hours.

There is something to do for all ages at Oaklands Recreation Plaza.  Young riders can test their skills on the purpose-built roadway which is suitable for bikes, trikes and scooters.  Confident riders will enjoy the adventure of the embankments and dips along the course.

There is a brightly painted dual-court suitable for basketball and netball, plus plenty of room to kick a footy or soccer ball.

The skate park at Oaklands Recreation Plaza is popular with people of all age groups.  The design offers many different challenges and spaces with design features such as:

  • Quarter pipes
  • Flat banks
  • Rollover hip
  • Volcano
  • Rail beams
  • Grind rails
  • Straight/curved ledges

There are numerous sheltered picnic tables and seating options – the unique semi-circular seating pods have power so you can charge your mobile device or listen to some music.  There is free WiFi here too.

A BBQ is situated next to the mini bike circuit, facing the track so you can continue to watch all the action while cooking. There is also a bike repair station near the 3 on 3 basketball court.

There is a toilet (daylight hours) and drinking fountain located on the Oaklands Road frontage.  Please note this is an on-leash park where dogs must be on a leash at all times.

The plaza includes:

  • skate park
  • mini basketball court
  • parkour circuit
  • feature seating
  • shelters and grassed areas

The plaza complements the adjacent Oaklands wetland and provides facilities for families and people of all ages and interests to exercise.

An iconic rotunda is located next to the wetlands and the turfed amphitheatre mound adds additional informal seating and a natural buffer to the skate park.  A large grassed area surrounds the rotunda for socialising, relaxing or lawn sports.

Location:

237-265 Oaklands Rd, Oaklands Park
