National Parks & Wildlife Service South Australia Park of the Month for August 2020 – Encounter Marine Park and Granite Island Recreation Park
With each Park of the Month there will be a variety of events for everyone to enjoy, with many of them free to attend. You can learn more about a park direct from the park ranger, enjoy a family adventure and explore a park in a different way with activities such as rock climbing, kayaking and mountain biking. You may like to chill out in nature with yoga and forest bathing, hear about the cultural history and join in community conservation efforts to protect and conserve national parks for future generations.
In August 2020 they are celebrating Encounter Marine Park and Granite Island Recreation Park as their Park of the Month. Stretching from Adelaide’s southern beaches to the northern coast of Kangaroo Island and the Murray Mouth, Encounter Marine Park is home to a diverse range of significant marine environments and species including southern right whales who visit the park in winter as part of the annual migration.
