Remembrance Day in South Australia

Observe a Minuteโ€™s Silence at 11am – Wherever you are on 11 November, Remember to Remember at 11am.

At 11am on 11 November 1918, the armistice, signed by Germany earlier that morning, came into effect, finally signifying the long-awaited end to the war. As soon as the news was known, cities and towns around Australia erupted into celebrations. The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month has been adopted as a time to remember those who served and sacrificed in all wars and conflict.

Adelaide Commemoration

The Adelaide city service commences at 10:45am, at the SA National War Memorial, corner of North Terrace and Kintore Avenue. Veterans, serving ADF personnel, families and members of the public may attend. Road closures will be in effect on North Terrace and Kintore Avenue from 10:30am and traffic will be detoured.  MORE INFO
