RL Pash Reserve Playground | Nailsworth | Review

RL Pash Reserve in Nailsworth has recently received an upgrade and now features improved play and gym equipment, a large green play space, picnic seating and BBQ facilities.

Review by Sharon Harrington

This beautiful park in the City of Prospect has plenty of trees for shade, a large lawn area for kids to play, a number of places to sit and a small range of play equipment to suit toddlers through to tweens.

The newly installed rock climbing mound is a popular addition to the park and our Play & Go kids’ favourite activity.  Younger children may need a little help getting down, so make sure you are close by to lend a hand, if needed.

Younger children will love scrambling up the rocks and whooshing down the slide.

The swings cater for both toddlers and larger children who are able to swing by themselves. There is also a basket swing for extra fun.

Kids can sail the high seas and have pirate adventures on the big red boat.

There is a lovely large expanse of green grass for kids to kick the footy, fly a kite or just run around.

There is a sheltered bench style table and chairs and also a BBQ, which would be great for a picnic.  Plus there are a number of benches to sit at throughout the park.

There are a couple of water fountains to drink from or refill your water bottle.

The Nailsworth Community Hall next door hosts various community classes such as yoga, and can also be hired out for birthday parties or other events.

Brand new gym equipment has also been installed.

A Raingarden has been put in place to purify stormwater. It features local native plants to attract birds, butterflies and beneficial insects.

Local artist Ella Simpson has contributed a stunning mural set behind the swings.

The reserve is fenced along the D’Erlanger Avenue side, however, keep in mind there are also unfenced sections to the park. There isn’t a toilet, so factor that in before visiting.

Things to Consider:

  • The park is only partially fenced, so keep an eye on the little ones.
  • There are no toilets, so factor this in.
  • Keep an eye on children on the rock climbing mound, as they may need a hand to get down.

Our favourite nearby coffee spots/cafes:

  • Head to Dulwich Bakery in Collinswood for coffee and baked treats.
  • Yolk Cafe in Walkerville is great for coffee and brunch.

Location:

36 D’Erlanger Ave, Nailsworth.  Parking available at the adjacent community hall and on side streets.
