Semaphore Steam Train Rides | Semaphore to Fort Glanville Tourist Railway

Semaphore Steam Train – fun family train ride from Semaphore to Fort Glanville and back.

The Semaphore to Fort Glanville Tourist Railway is an enjoyable 30 minute, four kilometre return journey travelling along the picturesque sand dunes in open carriages pulled along behind a steam engine.

Operated by the National Railway Museum, the 2km long 457 mm gauge railway from Semaphore to Fort Glanville departs from the foot of the Semaphore jetty at the end of the popular Semaphore Road cafe strip.  The train then runs parallel along the Esplanade and the sand dunes of one of Adelaide’s most popular swimming beaches, before passing through the dunes near historic Fort Glanville at Point Malcolm.
